What is Social Security Disability?
Attorney Leahy focuses her practice on Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) claims for individuals in the New England region.
Attorney fees are based on a contingent fee agreement, meaning that no fee is charged unless an award is obtained which results in retroactive benefits or unless a client wishes to enter into a different fee arrangement.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) provides disability benefits to qualified individuals through two programs:
Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) Program
Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) Program – requires that an individual have a medical condition(s) (physical and/or mental) that prevents him/her from performing regular full-time work for at least a year or is expected to result in death. In addition, the individual must have a sufficient and relatively recent work history to have earned and maintain eligibility for the SSDI program.
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Program
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Program – allows payments to individuals who meet certain low-income and resources requirements and are age 65 or older, blind or disabled.
